As a Banquet Manager I have witnessed countless ceremonies both religious and civil, so when it came time to choose someone to perform my own ceremony it was a difficult choice. However, I know my choice was the right one. We don't know where to begin to thank you for the wonderful ceremony you performed for our wedding. It was so personal, so spiritual, so graceful and peaceful. As I look at the pictures, there are many tear-filled eyes in the audience. Everyone was touched by the spoken words as well as the spirituality and love present in the room. We truly appreciate your suggestions from the candle lighting with our children to the presentation of flowers to our parents as well as the silent meditation that gave everyone reason to reflect. We continue to hear from our guests that it was the nicest and most meaningful ceremony they have ever attended. Everyone was included and felt a part of the ceremony. We couldn't have asked for more. We will cherish the memory forever. Thank you for such a lovely memory.

It has been six days since our wedding and our guests are still calling to compliment us on our ceremony. It was exactly as we dreamed. Everyone felt involved and very much a part of our celebration. Even our parents and my grandmother told us how special it was .. although, as you recall, they originally wanted a Catholic ceremony in a church. To say the least, they were impressed and so very proud.

We were actually originally suppose to have someone else officiate our wedding, but that person was unable to at the last minute. I found Susan's website through the grace of spirit with only a few days to spare and I could not be happier. She made our wedding so special and intimate! Every moment was so meaningful! Everyone said it was just beautiful!
Susan was amazing. My husband and I are from Charleston SC. Our wedding was in Bryson City NC. Susan was so understanding of our schedules and taking time to call us and go over our ceremony. She was available any time I needed her. She tailored the ceremony to fit our relationship, and our desires. She referenced our grandparents that had passed. This was especially important to us. Susan was excellent! Provided structure/outline to the ceremony during planning but was also open to any free-lance ideas. She was incredibly well-spoken and had excellent delivery of the ceremony. I highly recommend her!
I cannot say enough positive things about our experience working with Susan. From the time of our first meeting with her we felt very confident that she was the perfect person to officiate our ceremony. We wanted an interfaith ceremony and had a difficult time finding someone who truly understood what that meant. She was extremely professional and helpful throughout the preparations. From the first time we met Susan Marlan, we knew for certain she had to be the person to marry us. Once you meet her, you'll understand what I mean. Susan is a force of nature. On the big day, she calmly yet decisively guided us through the ceremony in a way only an experienced professional can. Her genuine and thoughtful writing and delivery of the wedding ceremony was beautiful and joyful, but had a certain gravity to it that honored the significance of the day. We (and many of our guests) especially loved that the ceremony focused on the joy and celebration of love and life.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Susan to officiate our wedding in Asheville, NC. We live outside of Chicago and had about 20 of our family and friends join us for a small wedding ceremony in Pritchard Park. Being out of state and trying to plan a destination wedding was a bit challenging, but as soon as we reached out to Susan, we knew we had to have her as our officiant. We spoke over the phone and went over the kind of ceremony we were looking to have, various options for readings/rituals/prayers, and the overall flow of the ceremony. She was very responsive to any questions we had leading up to our wedding day. On the wedding day, she arrived on time, made us feel at ease, and gave us a wedding ceremony that truly exceeded our expectations. She is a very warm, genuine, caring, and loving soul, and she was a huge part in helping to make our wedding day perfect.

Susan was absolutely wonderful on our special day. She made our wedding ceremony very personal and heartfelt. We have never felt so welcomed and loved by someone that had never met my wife and I. We have waited 15 years for this moment and she made it everything the both of us dreamed of for our special day. My husband and I planned a last minute get away to elope in Asheville. I contacted the Chamber of Commerce and was directed to the proper contacts to put me in touch with Susan. Our initial call was made on a Thursday and our wedding took place the following Saturday. We were so excited to have a positive response to our request with such short notice. We couldn't have been more pleased with Susan's service and flexibility. Rob and I would highly recommend Susan to all couples looking for someone to add that special touch to their special day! She was a sheer delight and we can't thank her enough!

We were happy with Susan’s ceremony, it included our family. Our family that came with us has supported us from the beginning. We were very excited to be abe to let them know how much we appreciate them. The whole ceremony was created for us and our love. Thank you Susan. We felt like we were married before, but now everyone knows that we are married.

Susan was an absolute delight to work with for our very small, no frills ceremony. Her various options for the program were comprehensive and beautiful. So very gracious and cordial given that we were so nervous and had zero experience with this! Very organized and professional and certainly gave us a sense of calm before and throughout the ceremony.

We would, without hesitation, recommend Susan to anyone looking for a personalized wedding ceremony experience. She is undoubtedly gifted at her work! After spending ample time searching for the "one", we contacted Susan. She responded quickly to discuss our ceremony line by line, word by word. In the beginning, we really did not know where to start and I was impressed by Susan's recommendations for our ceremony based on our life and our beliefs, but which was also respectful of the guests that would be attending. I especially appreciated the recommendations she made regarding the flow of our ceremony. We ended up incorporating a sand exchange which I originally thought was too trendy and a passing fad. However, being that we met in Florida, we were able to collect sand from the beach in the city where we met and used it in the ceremony. It was simply perfect and totally "us". I had numerous family members and friends approach me and say how impressed they were with the ceremony and that they could tell it was carefully planned. Susan was absolutely critical to the success of our wedding and we cannot thank her enough!

I couldn't have asked for a better ceremony. Susan was very professional and friendly and she spoke with us early on before the ceremony to make sure all our wishes were granted and what we wanted to say and what we didn't want to say. We are not a religious couple, and she was completely open and understanding to that. I was so nervous that we would be judged for it, but Susan made us comfortable and she truly shows how much our ceremony meant to her. My husband and I do not like to be the center of attention, but the words that were spoken put us at ease and we couldn't have been happier with how our ceremony went. I highly recommend Susan for any ceremony you need regardless of your beliefs. She has a big open heart and she truly makes you feel special.

Absolutely loved the way Susan did our ceremony. We met months before and chose exactly how we wanted the ceremony to go and got to make changes all the way up until I was about to walk down the isle. Susan made sure to stay in contact with us over the months before the wedding and that made us feel very comfortable with her. I definitely recommend her.

It's amazing that we planned the ceremony over the phone and met you only minutes before the ceremony. We could tell you were committed to making this a day never to be forgotten...and you delivered! Your guidance and calm voice carried us from the first phone call to the "I do's". Thank you Susan, for being there for all of us who want something other than the traditional. Absolutely adored Susan! She did wonderful with her words and incorporating what we wanted into the ceremony. She was very helpful with giving new and creative ideas to personalize our ceremony. Our ceremony ended up being perfect thanks to her!

I found Susan by a stroke of luck when planning our mountain elopement. It was just us and she was great, she included everything I wanted and our ceromeny felt so personal and we were able to fully focus on us and our day and our time. I can't thank her enough for all her help. She was amazing and above An beyond
