We were actually originally suppose to have someone else officiate our wedding, but that person was unable to at the last minute. I found Susan’s website through the grace of spirit with only a few days to spare and I could not be happier. She made our wedding so special and intimate! Every moment was so meaningful! Everyone said it was just beautiful!

From the first time we met Susan Marlan, we knew for certain she had to be the person to marry us. Once you meet her, you’ll understand what I mean. Susan is a force of nature. On the big day, she calmly yet decisively guided us through the ceremony in a way only an experienced professional can. Her genuine and thoughtful writing and delivery of the wedding ceremony was beautiful and joyful, but had a certain gravity to it that honored the significance of the day. We (and many of our guests) especially loved that the ceremony focused on the joy and celebration of love and life.

Susan was great at communicating, particularly important for me and Steven and we had a destination wedding. The first time we spoke to her, she spent 45 minutes on the phone with us making sure that she was able to help us create a personal ceremony that represented us. Most of our communication was via e-mail, and Susan always responded quickly.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Susan to officiate our wedding in Asheville, NC. We live outside of Chicago and had about 20 of our family and friends join us for a small wedding ceremony in Pritchard Park. Being out of state and trying to plan a destination wedding was a bit challenging, but as soon as we reached out to Susan, we knew we had to have her as our officiant. We spoke over the phone and went over the kind of ceremony we were looking to have, various options for readings/rituals/prayers, and the overall flow of the ceremony. She was very responsive to any questions we had leading up to our wedding day. On the wedding day, she arrived on time, made us feel at ease, and gave us a wedding ceremony that truly exceeded our expectations. She is a very warm, genuine, caring, and loving soul, and she was a huge part in helping to make our wedding day perfect.

As a Banquet Manager I have witnessed countless ceremonies both religious and civil, so when it came time to choose someone to perform my own ceremony it was a difficult choice. However, I know my choice was the right one. We don’t know where to begin to thank you for the wonderful ceremony you performed for our wedding. It was so personal, so spiritual, so graceful and peaceful. As I look at the pictures, there are many tear-filled eyes in the audience. Everyone was touched by the spoken words as well as the spirituality and love present in the room. We truly appreciate your suggestions from the candle lighting with our children to the presentation of flowers to our parents as well as the silent meditation that gave everyone reason to reflect. We continue to hear from our guests that it was the nicest and most meaningful ceremony they have ever attended. Susan was amazing. My husband and I are from Charleston SC. Our wedding was in Bryson City NC. Susan was so understanding of our schedules and taking time to call us and go over our ceremony. She was available any time I needed her. She tailored the ceremony to fit our relationship, and our desires. She referenced our grandparents that had passed. This was especially important to us. We were both very close to our grandparents. I would gladly recommend Susan to anyone wanting a personalized wedding experience, and not the run of the mill “I do’s”

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience working with Susan. From the time of our first meeting with her we felt very confident that she was the perfect person to officiate our ceremony. We wanted an interfaith ceremony and had a difficult time finding someone who truly understood what that meant. She was extremely professional and helpful throughout the preparations.
